06:08 pm - Missed the opportunity to be a better man...
Lucky Europeans get Black Holes and Revelations a week before I do. Not fair.

I was pretty much meant to be born in Stockholm.

01:40 pm - Murder By Death Extravaganza

07/01/06 - 2pm Lexington

A free accoustic show? How could I not go? It's true I got lost as hell downtown Lexington which made me a little late and I had a lame spot. It was mostly a bunch of local kids who didn't know who they were. But...

I did get to talk to Adam a little bit and got a poster signed, which made the trip worth the effort.

07/01/06 - 10pm Louisville

This was one hell of a show. This was probably my favorite show I've seen of theirs, post-Vincent (6th time seeing them, only saw the band with Vincent once). Even though they didn't close they still played a long set. It was mostly material from the new album, which made the show different than the others I've been to. God damn, they were so good.

The band kinda stood in front of us during the first half of the concert. I didn't say anything to them but I did see Sarah holding Adam's arm and such. I always read rumors about them as a couple and I thought it was kinda surreal to actually see them show affection. I wanted to take a picture but I would have fealt like an ass.

AND... They are playing again in Covington August 2nd. I have class that night but I will most likely skip if it's not an important class.

AND... AND... They are playing again in Indianapolis August 10th. Shit yeah, I'm there.

We set out for sea with icicles in our BEARDS!

I was listening to Knights of Cydonia and I was wondering what Cydonia was. So I looked it up and found this.

Apparantly Cydonia is this hill/landscape/pyramid on the surface of mars and on the right time of day the shadows make it look like a face. Many people suspect it to be man or alien made when Mars was habitable. But I think most scientists rule it out to be a coincidence.

Still pretty cool, ya?

06:31 pm - Straight from the Muse "Absolution" DVD

That, at the bottom-right corner there, is my right hand. YES! I am famous!
(From the Muse DVD, had a clip of the Cincinnatti show Amy and I went to back in March '04. We were behind the camera man who actually scored me a setlist.)

Just for the record...

The Thom Yorke solo is good.
The new Murder By Death is awesome.
The new Muse bests them all.

The writers of Lost have 'lost' their mind. I swear!

JUST when you think you've figured something out some small, minuscule thing happens in the end of an episode that completely turns everything around. Sometimes I don't think the writers know how to end it. They don't know what's going to happen. They just write a new plot twist in every episode to make the series never-ending. It's almost INSULTING to the viewer.

AND I LOVE IT!

04:19 pm - My crazy, crazy night...
So last night B and Tom are hanging out in my room with my window open. They were getting ready to leave until we heard something. We heard the voice of a woman screaming "SOMEBODY HELP ME! ANYBODY!". I thought I was hearing things until I saw B and Tom look just as shocked as I was. At the lowest of our voices we whispered to each other "Did you hear that? What the fuck?". Then we heard a door shut, like a car door shut. At this point we are staying away from the window because we didn't want to be seen... we were a little scared. So after many "What should we do?"s we decided to close the window and go to the kitchen and look out the door.

To fill you on the surroundings of my neighbor hood, there are 2 houses behind mine (where the sound came from), one to the left and one to the right of my house. There is only one woman in the area, who is in one of the houses behind mine. The other house behind mine is abandoned.

So I called 911 (first time in my life) and about 30 mins later a cop showed up. He was a younger guy, probably not much older than us. We only talked to him for a few seconds until he ran off with his flashlight investigating the area. I told him about the only woman in the area so he went to the house and talked to her. He came back later and told us that she knew nothing of it. He searched around some more for about an hour or so but there was nothing he could really do.

So nobody knows what the fuck happened. Here are the facts. (No, it wasn't the TV, it was on mute).

12:45am
1) B, Tom, and I heard a voice of a woman (maybe a boy) scream "Somebody help me! Anybody?"
2) Moments after, we heard a door shut.
3) We didn't hear a car leave.
4) I THOUGHT I remembered a light being on in the abandoned house, when the cop showed up later, it was off.

1:30am
5) Cop shows up.
6) Only woman in the area says she didn't know anything about it.

2:30am
7) Cop investigates the area, nothing he can do, he leaves (You could really tell he was upset about it, that he couldn't find out anything).

Here are my theories about what happened::
1) There is a 13 year old boy with mental problems a couple blocks away who craves attention, sometimes he lays down in the middle of the road and waits for someone to call the cops. He's experienced several 911 calls. It could have been him.

2) There was a car and they took off without any of us hearing them. The window is fairly close to the road though, so I think we would have heard it.

3) There was someone inside that abandoned house. The previous couple that lived there had marriage problems. And they would have the keys to get inside it.

4) We heard a ghost.

I'll admit, it was a little difficult to sleep last night. I think the big problem of the whole thing was that the cop came from Gallitan county which is really far away. It's surprising enough that he got here that fast, but still... it was almost an hour after we heard everything, it was just too late.

I do regret that we didn't look. I wish that when that happened, we went to the window to see what was going on. But we were pussies. We stayed away from the window for about 2 minutes until we decided to do something about it. I feel like a coward and I wish we were a little more investigative.

Chances are, I guess nothing happened, at least that's what I'm hoping for. But still... a woman screamed "Somebody help me" and the only woman in the area doesn't know anything about it. That scream, that voice (followed by the door shut) still huants my mind.

05:55 pm - Current Balance: ....... Your SOUL!

Money makes me hate college.

So I have $60 in my pocket, $5 in my checking account, and my dad owes me about $400. Phil was telling me that he was thinking about mentioning my name at Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance's central offices' IS department when his boss asked him if he knew anybody that would like his job when he gets promoted. I originally told him I couldn't do that because of the work I have to do for my father, but I had a word with my dad about it and he said he didn't want to hold me back.

But I doubt it works out. Things are never what they seem.

So how am I going to conjur $500...

04:42 pm - i don't wanna do this, baby. i don't wanna go.
So I was on my computer last Friday night and all of a sudden my video shit itself. Just out of the blue (what does that even mean?). I went to Shellie's and put together a computer to build that's almost as good as my laptop for about $245 and that if my repairs were going to be higher than that I would just build a new desktop. So after several calls to Gateway's tech support and corporate offices, I was able to send it in to replace the motherboard for $244. That was kind of ironic. So I should be getting my computer back in a couple weeks.

Of course, I don't even have $250 since I lost two $100 bills over the break. It was laying on my desk one day and the next it was gone. But I guess that's my own fault.

About school, some of it's not so bad, rest of it is a little intimidating. My CIS 320 class is rebuilding the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft's website. A representative from the firm came to talk with us this week and broadly went over all the things he wanted done. Talking about centralizing their databases mostly because their webstore is shot. Also several other things that I've never done before so it should be a learning experience if nothing else. However, 320 is all about project planning. CIS 420 (in the fall) will be the actual implementation of it.

I just found a message on blackboard about my ex CIS 201 (javascript and introductory java) professor is looking for a lab assistant. I'm thinking about emailing but it was posted on Tuesday so I'm sure the position is filled. I've always wanted to be a TA or a student grader or something just for a reference I can put on my shabby resume. Working for your father for 8 years doesn't look to impressive... and it's not like I can use my dad as a reference.

My co-op will help out a lot with that though.

I'm going home. Lata playa.
